BOOST Early Learning Center began offering Head Start to Reading classes in January 2017. Students attend weekly small group classes for 10 weeks. It's amazing to see what kids can learn in only 10 lessons!
who we are
Mrs. Lesli, owner of BOOST Early Learning Center, is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Education. She has been teaching for 20+ years and is a Texas certified teacher. Her passion has always been literacy, especially ESL. After having her own children, she became interested in early literacy and has been teaching Pre-K since 2015. Mrs. Lesli and her husband have 2 boys who also took the classes she teaches now!

FOR 4 or 5 YEAR OLDS
(the year before kindergarten)

SET 1 is designed to be taken the year before kindergarten. In Head Start to Reading, we will focus on important sight words that will help facilitate
fluent reading.

55 minutes a week, for 10 weeks

available 1st, 2nd and 3rd sessions if we have time slots open

Set 2
FOR 4 OR 5 YEAR OLDS
(the year before kindergarten)

SET 2 is designed to be taken AFTER SET 1. In this class, students learn how to use letter sounds to build and decode CVC words and begin reading
decodable books.
​
55 minutes a week, for 10 weeks

5 students per class

SET 3
FOR 4 OR 5 YEAR OLDS
(the year before kindergarten)

HANDWRITING is designed to be taken AFTER the first 2 reading sets. In this class, students learn how to use lines and correct lowercase letter formation. We will practice sounding out words and writing the corresponding letters.
